Necessity is the Mother of Invention!
This is the 3rd time I have hosted a Bizarre Bazaar! What exactly is that, you ask? Just a clothing exchange, complete with food, wine and good times!
I started hosting this, almost 2 years ago, as a way to save money and get new goodies!
You see, I couldn't afford to buy new things here in France -- one, because I didn't have a lot of money, and two, everything is so expensive!
Example, you ask? I was at LeClerc, (a grocery/department store comparable to Target in the U.S.) a single washcloth was price marked at 8€. A WASHCLOTH! Ohhhhh NO!
Seriously? Ten bucks for a washcloth!
Cue Rehab song by Amy Winehouse (RIP) and sing with me now!!!
You try to make me pay full retail, and I said NO NO NO!
The idea sprung out of necessity! I needed new clothes, yet I didn't have a lot of money, so BAM, The Bizarre Bazaar was born! The idea is simple enough - it allows us ladies to clean out our closets, get organized, plus declutter our space and minds and exchange them!
Best part -- EVERYTHING IS FREE! We exchange everything... from clothing, shoes, nail polish, household items, kids stuff, toys, beauty products and in return go home with new stuff!
We always have a good time and we make out like bandits!
We model our new wares for each other (Gilly Bean was having way too much fun dancing and posing-I just love this photo of her) and talk and eat and talk and eat and talk and eat!!!!
I took home, 4 new outfits, including a new jacket for next year, my favorite item is a pink t-shirt pictured with a glass of wine that reads, 'Liquid Happiness!' I also picked up a jewerly set, some earrings, plus some household goodies, like soap, candles, a new loofah. SCORE!
After everything is said and done, we donate the remaining clothing to charity and call it a day!
The Bizarre Bazaar is one of my favorite creative projects I have ever imagined and I hope I have inspired you to host one of your very own!
Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned on an upcoming post on living la vie française!
It will be hard, but if I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT!
Sneak peak - cancelling your cable and opening your windows and doors to life's possiblities!
Bonjour et Bienvenue!
Thank you for stopping by for a spell!

Frenchified for Life
is a fabulous little lifestyle blog about truly embracing French life!
My intent is to simply inspire you to create something unique and beautiful in your everyday life. The French have this wonderful and annoying habit of seeing the world through rose colored glasses, might as well learn something from them!
That said, I lift my glass to you!
By the way, I mention the name Cachou (or The Cash) a lot, I'm referring to her...
