Mayo Maison avec avocat et crevettes
Homemade mayonaise served in an avocado and topped with shrimp. This is one of the first meals my sweet husband made for me, needless to say, it was love at first bite.
How can I describe the taste of homemade mayo?
I really can not, but what I can do, is give you the recipe:
one egg yolk
oil (sunflower or vegtable)
Then, beat and beat, adding small drips of oil until it expands in size! Also add fresh chopped garlic and parsley too!
You will know that it is truly done when you flip the bowl upside down and it doesn't fall out!
We eat it with fresh baguette and shrimp, in fact, any seafood will do!
Goat cheese salad
Again, so simple to make and at all times, think of presentation.
Cut the cheese (teehee) in slices, place on toasted bread and serve with your favorite lettuce salad.
The dressing on this salad is sooo good and good for you as well - it is balsamic vinegar, olive oil, a teaspoon of dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Stir with muscle and pour on top!
Magret du Canard avec frites
Duck breast served with fries and a salad!
As you will notice, the sauce on top is a peppercorn cream sauce, again super easy to make.
After your cook your breast to your liking, add butter,
(heavy whipping) cream and peppercorns to the drippings in the pan, stir, and pour on top! HEAVEN!
Goose or Duck Liver!
Lately, I have decided to lay off this delicacy.
Still... love it!
I love eating it with on a baguette slice with jam, such as fig or apricot!
In this photo, it is served with carmelized fruit, looks like cherries and apricots.
Blanquette de Veau
Veal Stew! HEAVEN!!!
Another one of the first meals that the husband made for us!
It is soooo good!
So good in fact, that I have asked him to make it for us earlier in the week! Love at first bite! Again, super easy to make!
On a low/medium heat, pan fry the veal, onions and garlic together with butter, throw in the potatoes and carrots, add water and let simmer and cook. When it begins to smell HEAVENLY, then add the cream, salt and pepper and top off with parsley, stir and allow it to meld together! Then when cooked to your liking, serve and enjoy!
MIAM! YUM! NOM!
