MIAM-YUM-NOM! Foodies Unite! Hello everyone! If you are planning a trip into my beautiful city, here are some restaurants you MUST visit. I am a very practical person, therefore, IF I decide to go out, I make sure that each restaurant I go to meets the following two requirements: 1. the food is very, very, very good 2. it is reasonable priced. That said, check out some of My Favorite Mini-Restaurants in Bordeaux ![]() PUFFY COFFEE Ok, perhaps this is a shameless plug for my friend, Adriana. Afterall, she is the chef for this great little café! Go and see her, tell her "Hello!", then scream, "WHERE ARE MY NACHOS!?" She has become accustomed to this from me. ;) Puffy Coffee -- 23 Cours Portal 33000 Bordeaux. GO GO GO here! On her menu -- its a sweet slice of Americana in France! Example: Cobb salad, carrot cake, cheesecake, NACHOS, ranch dressing, burgers, BBQ ribs, shakes, and coffee à la Starbucks! (Everything is fresh made and with quality ingredients.) Expect to spend less than 15€ for lunch! UPDATE: PUFFY COFFEE HAS CLOSED DOWN. Thanks for the memories! ![]() FUXIA The next restaurant is located in Quinconces. (pronounced Can-konzzzzz) I have been here on several occasions, as it is located next door to Bordeaux-USA, an assocation created to improve Franco-American relations. Fuxia -- 40 Allée d'Orléans 33000 Bordeaux. The food, Italian, is good and their staff is welcoming and kind, ok and VERY CUTE too! Cute Frenchies! Love them! They serve mostly pastas, pizzas, salads, anti-pastas, and very creamy desserts. In the photo, I ordered a charcuterie plate (Italian deli meats) with fresh vegtables and fresh bread. MIAM! YUM! NOM! There is also an outdoor shaded space for enjoying the warm sun and to smoke (something one gets use to here in France) overlooking the hustle and bustle of the tram stops and an EXCELLENT place for people watching!! The price is reasonable for what it is, with a carafe of wine and a meal, expect to spend for both lunch/dinner 25 - 30€. UPDATE: Recently had dinner here again and ordered the veal topped with aged ham and mozzarella with a tomato creme sauce and a side salad and whoaaaaaa-doggy it was fantabulous -- fantastic and fabulous jammed together at the same time! ![]() MY LITTLE CAFE I love this little cafe, aptly named, My Little Café. My Little Café -- 21 Rue de la Vieille Tour 33000 Bordeaux. They serve fresh salads, sandwiches, and quiches, plus homemade pies that are worth the wait (they are usually very busy, so get there early before they sell out of your favorite one, I speak from experience! The couple of times I have been there, I ordered a sandwich that tasted like a veggie Thanksgiving meal. I have also ordered a ham and veggie quiche, it was like butter! Sooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooood! The owners are also so kind and nice, you will love it here. Expect to spend less than 9€ for a hearty portion of your choice of salad, sandwich or quiche, plus a drink, plus your homemade, delish dessert! I did remember having a conversation with the owner, I asked him if the cheesecake was made with Philadelphia cream cheese. He said No, they used St Moret (the French version of Phillie cream cheese) hence, I choose something else. He said to me that I should try it, as it is very good and to trust him. I smiled and said cheese cake should only be made with Philadelphia! I mean, DUH, right!??!!! We laughed and smiled and I have been a fan of this place EVER SINCE!!!!!! ![]() ARBOL TEX MEX in France? You betcha! Arbol - 4 rue de la Merci 33000 Bordeaux. The food here is sooooooo very very delicious, however, I don't go there often, as it is not efficient. SERIOUSLY! There is a common sense order to things, and even though the food is so very very good and everything is fresh and homemade and tastes just like Texas, HOWEVER, I cannot get past how annoying it is to eat their delicious food! (The French, annoying?!! You betcha!) WHY? Arbol is designed like a Chipotle or a Subway Sandwiches, (think about it!) but backwards!! When I first came here, I lined up to order food first, then pay, then walk out the door with food in hand, as it would be efficient and keep the line moving, but NO! I was told to order first, then pay, then wait with other people who are waiting for their food, plus wait with other people who are in line to order their food (it's called fast food for a reason, dumb asses!) then wait some more before eating. Hence, it becomes this stinky sticky web of sweaty French people mixed with aroma of Mexican food. Sigh.. Understand? To combat this problem, I casually walk by to see if there is a line of people waiting, if not, BAM, I'm the first one at the cash register! I simply erase the annoyance from the picture and it works like a charm everytime. ** I can ONLY recommend this place under these specific circumstances! ** For a hearty burrito or 3 tacos (carnitas, beef or chicken, they also have JALEPENOS!) a drink, and a side of chips and guacamole, expect to shell out less than 13€ for either lunch or dinner! MIAM!

Bonjour et Bienvenue!I'm Jennifer...
Thank you for stopping by for a spell! I am a 40-something year old American woman. Born in Texas, raised in Las Vegas! Frenchified for Lifeis a fabulous little lifestyle blog about truly embracing French life!
My intent is to simply inspire you to create something unique and beautiful in your everyday life. The French have this wonderful and annoying habit of seeing the world through rose colored glasses, might as well learn something from them!
That said, I lift my glass to you! By the way, I mention the name Cachou (or The Cash) a lot, I'm referring to her...
