Today's blog post is about Vinexpo: what it is, what it promotes and why it is so important!
Read time: 10 minutes
Every two years, my city welcomes more than 2-thousand exhibitors from 44 countries around the world for one of the major events for wine enthusiasts - VINEXPO!
As you may already know, France is the world's largest wine manufacturers in the world.
Even Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers came to the area in his day to study her vineyards and partake in her wines. Jefferson, a lover of all grape varieties and fanboy (for lack of a better term) would even go as far as to write letters to friends describing their personalities to the liquid elixir.
The event kicks off on Friday, June 12 with a private invitation only event known as Eye on Wine.
Saturday, the event is in full swing with gala dinners, award ceremonies, tastings, challenges/competitions, workshops, food pairings, interesting lectures, and of course parties, parties, parties!!!
As an expert wine drinker, it would be interesting to know what truly is in store at this year's event.
I do know Vinexpo hopes to combine business with entertainment, as they have touted by unveiling a brand new format and plans on offering 80 events, plus with the convention itself, it is sure to be another grand success!
Organizers say that in every aisle of the convention, wine and spirit producing countries will present their best and visitors will get a chance to experience it -- from Colombian rum to Ukrainian vodka, Peruvian pisco, Japanese whiskey (which I hear tastes like the nectar of the gods!!) Chardonnays from New Zealand, German Rieslings, Portuguese Verdelho and let's not forget about California, my Americans will be there too, showcasing their famous Pinot Noir!
In fact, the Americans will have their own pavilion, aptly named the "Napa Valley Vintners," as they will be grouped together.
The event ends on June 18.
Vinexpo was founded in 1981 by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and has since grown to become the largest gathering for wine and spirits professionals. Vinexpo is held every two years and welcomes more than 45-thousand visitors from 150 countries and 2,400 exhibitors representing 45 wine/spirit producing countries.
Bonjour et Bienvenue!
Thank you for stopping by for a spell!

Frenchified for Life
is a fabulous little lifestyle blog about truly embracing French life!
My intent is to simply inspire you to create something unique and beautiful in your everyday life. The French have this wonderful and annoying habit of seeing the world through rose colored glasses, might as well learn something from them!
That said, I lift my glass to you!
By the way, I mention the name Cachou (or The Cash) a lot, I'm referring to her...
