Hello there! Are you eating well?
Today's post is ALL ABOUT FOOD! I love to eat more than I like to shop, on top of that, I LOVE food shopping! Here are a couple of meals I keep on rotation. I am often asked if there is a certain food that I miss or crave, and to be perfectly honest, no, I do not miss, get bored, or crave anything. It is one of the thousands of benefits of eating low carb. And, I think that is cool! Quick story... I recently ate potatoes and I found that I didn't like the taste, it tasted like a thick paste in my mouth, yuk!
I made a couple of New Year's Resolutions, one of which was to continue on an low carb, Atkins lifestyle and even made a semi-strict plan to reach a new fitness goal before Spring. I believe in the old adage, abs are made in the kitchen and since I love eating, well, it is only logical to revamp my eating habits.
I eat adequate protein with large helpings of veggies. I also indulge in cheese, butter, cream and attempt to eat them to my heart's delight! I have also including drinking a shot of cranberry aloe vera juice from the product line, Forever Living. It is an aquired taste, but since I am only drinking a shot of it with my breakfast, I find the benefits outweigh the taste. Besides, I like the taste. It makes me feel good and does wonders for my skin, hair, nails and girlie parts! And everybody knows aloe vera does a body good!
What I stay away from: processed foods, pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, and sugar. Yes, I do eat them on occasion, I'm human, but again, I am at a point in my eating habits where, I do not feel that I am missing anything.
I simply feel that life is too short to eat bad food!
So shall we indulge?
Bonjour de Bordeaux!
February is almost over, Spring is on the horizon! Oh vay! Where did the time go? And you? Are you taking care of yourselves? How are your New Year Resolutions coming? Made any progress? I hope so!
In my previous posts, I wrote about rediscovering yourself and embracing your best life. Easier said than done, yes I know, however when you align yourself and allow yourself to do what needs to be done, it simply becomes second nature. I speak from experience, learned trail by error style.
In these past few months, I have been a busy little bee, buzzing around Bordeaux attempting to pollunate every flower to allow new growth in the Spring! I don't know how I got to be so busy! But, when you have more than one job, attempt to be a good wife to a sweet and sexy husband, household duties, take care of the dog, start a new business concept, eat right, exercise, hang out with friends... like everybody, really! I understand! At the end of the day, I am checked out! Mentally and physically, so much so, I have the temperment of a cave girl! How unfeminine of me!
And there in lies the dilemma! So, back to square one. I must do what needs to be done by aligning myself with some thing greater and the find the strength, willpower and perserverance to overcome old habits. It is a work in progress. I hope to progress! I hope the same for you!
My last weigh in:
January 15, 2014 : 132
February 22, 2014 : 130
I va-va-vroomed up my work out routine, and have paid attention to what I am eating. I also started a 30 day workout challenge with my witches, (I call them that because everytime we get together magic happens!) four of us are involved and we are each other's witchy cheerleaders! If you can imagine! Think Harry Potter Quidditch Cheerleaders! ha!
I also take a multi-vitamin, a Vitamin D supplement, and more recently, I added aloe vera juice. I feel the benefits! Oh, and that aloe vera does my body good!
Until next time... Take care of yourselves! Life is too short to eat bad food!

It is the little things!
Bonjour tout le monde!
Sometimes, living across the ocean has its disadvantages, especially when it comes to the little things, like snacky foods! I could give you a list of all the things I miss, but I shant bore you, instead, I want to show you a Frenchified-Americana-British-Scottish funky little speciality store that I recently discovered!
Meet Sophie! And check out Sophie's Store! I was instantly transported back to the eclectic little boutique shops you would find in say, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, or the Hamptons! My senses were overloaded with all the pretty little things and I walked out of there with a sack full of goodies and my wallet a little lighter. Nonetheless, it was worth it, WHY? you ask?! Well two reasons: 1. PORK RINDS 2. BLACK BEAN SALSA (It's a Texas thing!) I'll come back to this shortly.
But first, let's take a tour of Sophie's Store!
Why do the French capitivate our attention so? Why are we so fascinated by them? What is it that the French possess that makes us interested? Think about it for a moment, I'll wait.
The French do have that je ne sais quoi or certain something that grabs our attention. We wish to be adorned in the latest French fashions, announce our arrival or departure in French perfume, wear beautiful French lingerie, drink Champagne and of course, have a French lover!!! It is all so romantic, is it not? Then comes reallity!
For those lucky (or unlucky) enough to have been seduced by a French person, I am willing to bet that it was an experience. French men love mystery and I believe Simone de Beauvoir said it best... One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman.
Since living in France, I have become more in tune with my femininity. I simply chalk it up to this: France is beautiful for me everyday, it is only polite to return the favor.
The French admire beauty. Don't worry, they will let you know if you cut the dijon mustard or not.
French Women have taught me a thing or two about style and fashion.
And, to fill you in on a style secret: Don't imitate, just be the best you!
This post will discuss and outline some fashion and style tips that will have your looking your best from New York to Tokyo to Paris! French women always Take the Time to Care. That is their secret!
Below is a list of some Dos and Don'ts to help you see things from the French point of view! I truly believe that it is better to look pretty than professional, and it seems the French agree with me.
If you are planning a visit to France or want to dress up your wardrobe, I have outlined a OUI et NON list of some of the French style tips that I have picked up on while out and about!
So without further ado...
An I HATE FRANCE! Post
I have to deal with the French on a daily basis, obviously and somedays it is more than I can handle, as I just want to walk around kicking and punching people in the throat. Since I can not, I have devised other ways to kick and punch these stupid Frenchies in the throat.
I call it mirroring!
The expression: When in Rome (France) do as the Romans (French), applies 100% here!
So, without further ado, check out the video I prepared that will show you exactly what I mean!
Bonjour et Bienvenue!
Thank you for stopping by for a spell!
I am a 40-something year old American woman. Born in Texas, raised in Las Vegas!
Frenchified for Life
is a fabulous little lifestyle blog about truly embracing French life!
My intent is to simply inspire you to create something unique and beautiful in your everyday life. The French have this wonderful and annoying habit of seeing the world through rose colored glasses, might as well learn something from them!
That said, I lift my glass to you!
By the way, I mention the name Cachou (or The Cash) a lot, I'm referring to her...
